Quick Uke Build – Part VI
Normally the dovetail joint would be cut after the binding is fitted. You can see from the following pictures that in this instance it was done first. No matter. Either way will work. You can just make out the binding channel in the pictures below.
The neck is roughed out from a block of Mahogany
Wings are added to the headstock and a walnut veneer cap is then glued to the headstock face.
The neck is then rough shaped and the dovetail cut on the heel to fit the body.
The fingerboard is next to be prepared and the fret slots cut so it can be glued to the neck as it is shaped and glued to the body.
